The BRAZIL NUT grows wild in the Amazonian Rain Forest River Basin of Peru. It is an enormous canopy tree, growing to heights over 150 feet, and produces woody, seed pods containing clusters of nuts. Although widely known as a nut, it's actually a seed!

BRAZIL NUT POWDER contains a rather simplified nutritional profile in comparison with other Amazonian foods, representing approximately 70% fat and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids comprised of palmitic, oleic, and linoleic and alpha linolenic acids and small amounts of myristic and stearic acids and phytosterols, plus17% protein and dietary fiber.

BRAZIL NUT POWDER also containsamino acids such as cysteine (8%) and methionine (18%), and is rich in glutamine, glutamic acid, arginine and selenium. The amino acids help enhance the metabolism of selenium and other naturally occurring trace minerals including thiamine, copper, magnesium, calcium, phosphorous and zinc.
